This is the 1920 Edition that we had in our home growing up. As far as differences in the books.
1. The cover and beginning and end pages are not the same.
2. There is a different illustration on the title page.
3. The Little Red Hen is not in the 1928 edition.
4. There are 4 nursery rhymes in the 1920 version. The Was An Old Woman, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, There Was a Crooked Man, Pussy Cat, Pussy Cat and Peas-Porridge Hot.
5. Henny Penny in 1920 is called White Hen in 1928.
6. The 1928 edition has additional pages of questions and activities to do with each story. There are also other pages of vocabulary at the end of the book.
7. The 1928 edition also has the following stories: The Rabbits and The Birthday Party.
8. My 1920 edition lists A, B, C and Good Night on the Contents page but they are no longer in the book.
